Context
Heimdall is a cryptocurrency data company with social rankings. I joined as the sole designer on the development team — built the design system from scratch and designed the platform's complete interface.
What I did
Designed for data density without visual chaos. Built a Design Kit with typographic hierarchy, color palettes, and component creation — every token aligned with Tailwind so engineering shipped without translation. Modular components covered tables, charts, panels, and article publishing surfaces.
Outcome
Design system shipped. Components reused across product surfaces. Solo design end-to-end — research, kit, components, data viz, handoff.
Deep Dive
Design Kit
Developed a complete Design Kit including Type Scales, hierarchy, and a color palette optimized for the developers' goals — every token aligned with Tailwind utilities so engineering could ship without re-deriving values.
Componentization
Modular components adapted for a data and article publishing platform — tables, charts, panels, modals, content blocks. Documented usage rules; iterated with engineering until handoff ran clean.
Data Visualization
Custom solution for visualizing cryptocurrency data tables in mobile format — horizontal scrolling, table formatting for complex data, accessible color choices for chart-specific surfaces.
